Emma Lee Relander, 84 of Aledo, died Thursday, January 24, 2013 at her home. Services will be Monday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 6 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Mercer Carnegie Library.

Emma Lee was born on November 28, 1928 in Liberal, Kansas to Lee & Mergie Mae (Spence) Smith. She married Edwin Junior Relander on November 28, 1946 in Aledo, Illinois. Junior preceded her in death on July 16, 2009.

Emma Lee was employed with Production Credit, ASCS and also worked with her son at Relander Auction Company.

Emma Lee cherished her time spent with family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, her weekly ladies luncheons and monthly classmate get togethers. In earlier years, Emma Lee and Junior loved to go dancing.

Emma Lee is survived by her 3 sons and daughters-in-law: Dave & Sharon, Steve & Tanya and Randy & Darcy, all of Aledo; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Brett & Bekah Relander and their children: Holland, Riley Jane and one lovingly expected; Brad Relander; Travis & Kristin Relander and their children, Owen & Chloe and Cody & Chelsea Relander and their children: Drew & Brooklyn. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and a sister, Maxine Newswander.
