Bonnie Jean Key

October 8, 1928 — April 14, 2011

Bonnie Jean Key, 82 of Aledo, died Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Trinity Rock Island. Services will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Eliza Creek Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Union Church at Eliza Creek Cemetery. Jean was born on October 8, 1928 in Galesburg, Illinois to Thomas H. & Verle G. (Beverlin) Hagloch. She married Leon Stanley Key. He preceded her in death in 1972. Jean dedicated her life to helping children. She had a daycare in her home for many years. While living in South Dakota she was a special education aide and a children’s librarian. Jean enjoyed crocheting and the cherished the friendships she made at Heritage Woods in Aledo. Jean is survived by her 3 daughters: Judy Green of Shelby, NC; Frances Washburn of Tuscon, AZ and Holly Ducharm of Naples, FL; siblings and their spouses: Tom & Pat Hagloch; Betty Sue Salmon and Patsy Bewley, all of Aledo and Carol Marie and Reno Franks of Naples, FL; several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband and a daughter, Connie.
