Shirley Ann Whitehall

Shirley Ann Whitehall passed away peacefully in her home in Aledo, IL on Wednesday, October 5th, 2011. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church. Visitation is Saturday, from 9 to 11 AM at Speer Funeral Home in Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen Fund, QC Affiliate. She is survived by her loving husband Kenneth; her son Les Whitehall and his wife Janine and their daughters Ashley, Brittany and Kelsey of St. Louis, MO, daughter Laura Gift and her daughters Tabitha Young and Paige Gift of San Francisco, CA, son Lane Whitehall and his wife Ledith and their daughters Elyse and Haley of Aledo, IL and great-grandson Tannen Whitehall. Shirley was born in 1935 in Shale City, IL to Malon and Edna Vipond. She was a loving sister to Bubby, Mary, Bonnie, Jim, Jack and Bernie. Shirley met her soulmate Kenny and married him in 1954 when she was 19. Kenny and Shirley were practically inseparable, doing almost everything together. She often traveled with him on his cross country business trips. They loved dancing together. They were a wonderful duo, whose personalities complimented each others' perfectly. She was his yin to her yang. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family. She could always be counted on for a home cooked meal and a shoulder to cry on. She was a source of strength for her family. She loved a good game of cards and the occasional casino.Shirley was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Aledo, IL.
