Jerry R. Thompson

Jerry R. Thompson, 67 of Joy, died Wednesday, NOvember 9, 2011 at Aledo Rehab & Healthcare Center. Per Jerry’s wishes, cremation rites were accorded and their will be no formal services. Jerry was born on August 17, 1944 in Moline, Illinois to Robert R. & Dorothy M. (Swanson) Thompson. He married Mary Wakeland on September 10, 1971 in Joy, Illinois. Jerry was a self-employed, dedicated over the road truck driver. He cherished the time he spent with his wife, children and grandchildren. Jerry is survived by his wife, Mary; 2 sons: Steve Thompson and his wife, Lisa of Cambridge and Leon Thompson and his fiancé, Sarah, of Muscatine; 4 granddaughters: Kelsey, Mallorie, Mady and Ella Thompson; 2 step-grandchildren: Brittany and Nick Wilson; 4 brothers: Roger Thompson of Texas; Bob Thompson of New Windsor; Ronnie Thompson of Galva and Russ Thompson of Cambridge and 2 sisters: Darlene Swanson of Florida and Eilene DeFrieze of New Boston.
