Funeral Services for Kenneth Brown, 89 of Aledo, will be Friday at 1:30 PM at Trinity Presbyterian Church, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Trinity Presbyterian Church or family mission work. Kenneth died on Friday, February 3, 2012 at the Mercer County Hospital. Kenneth was born on January 25, 1923 in Ohio Grove Township to Felix & L. May (Bradford) Brown. He married Mary Esther Gilmore on March 21, 1947. She preceded him in death on January 1, 2007. After attending Iowa State University, Kenneth farmed his entire life in the Sunbeam area. He was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church and previously served as an elder in Sunbeam United Presbyterian Church. Kenneth was also served on the Unit #201 School Board, the Mer-Roc Farm Service Board, and as the Ohio Grove Township supervisor. He was also an active member of the Aledo Rotary Club. Surviving family members include 3 sons and their wives: Norman & Cheryl Brown of Aledo; Warren Brown of Nampa, ID; and Dr. Roger & Shirley Brown of Nairobi, Kenya; 2 daughters and their husbands: Carolyn & Joel McCrory of Aledo and Joy and Chris Rosik of Fresno, CA; a sister: Evelyn Dykstra of Hull, IA; 15 grandchildren: Andy Brown, Laura Lindberg, Jenny Ilderton, Emily Schneider, Brett McCrory, Tara Collison, Jill Hofmann, Karen McCrory, Rebekah Guthrie, Aaron Brown, Jonathan Brown, Rachel Brown, Hannah Brown, Annalise Rosik and Julianna Rosik and 27 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife and a daughter-in-law, Kathy Brown. .
