David E. Hampton

Graveside Services for David E. Hampton, 77 of Aledo, will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Eliza Creek Cemetery, Eliza, Illinois. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 4 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be left for the David Hampton Memorial Fund. David died on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 at Aledo Rehab & Health Care Center. David Earl was born on November 29, 1929 in Eliza Township to George and Sarah (Zimmerman) Hampton. He was previously married to the former Florine Blake. David devoted his entire life to farming. He retired from farming but continued to live on his farm in Greene Township until this past June. He truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially his walks to the pond where he could watch the wildlife. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, eating out and was a joker with his family. David is survived by his three children: David of Matherville; Lorene Anderson and husband, Roger of The Woodlands, TX and Dennis of Aledo; a grandson, Keegan Hampton; a sister, Darlene Jones of Aledo and a brother-in-law, Paul Castor of Taylor Ridge. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Virgil and a sister, Della May Castor.
