Nina Crawford

Funeral services for Nina F. Crawford, 63 of Joy, will be Tuesday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Peniel Cemetery, Joy, Illinois. Visitation is Monday from 4 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Joy United Methodist Church or The Good News Center Building Fund, Davenport. Nina died on Friday, July 20, 2012, at Trinity, Rock Island. Nina Faye was born on December 3, 1948 in Burlington, Iowa to Raymond & Katherine (Johnson) Secrest. She was a 1967 graduate of Aledo High School. Nina married Robert Crawford on May 23, 1970 at the Little Brown Church, Nashua, Iowa. Nina was a Pharmacy Tech with Wal-Mart, Aledo, for many years where she enjoyed visiting and helping her many friends and costumers. In her spare time Nina enjoyed quilting, stained glass, gardening and mushroom hunting. She cherished the time spent with her family and was thrilled to learn she was going to be a grandmother. Nina was currently attending the Good News Center in Davenport and had attended the United Methodist Church, Joy in earlier years, where she taught Sunday School. Those left to cherish Nina’s memory include her husband, Bob; children & spouses: Jason & Marcela Crawford and Julie & Merl Perrin, all of Joy; a grandchild lovingly expected; a brother, Larry Secrest of Joy and 2 sisters: Tricia Mueller of Herrin, IL and Linda Polson and husband, Jack of Gladstone. She was preceded in death by her parents and 3 sisters in infancy: Twins, Joyce Marie & June Lee and Sandra Jean.
