Delores Mae Elliott, 79 of Aledo, formerly of Milan, died Thursday, October 18, 2007 at the Mercer County Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday at The National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Family and friends are asked to gather at Trimble Funeral Home, Moline by 2:15 PM to proceed to the Arsenal. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Nursing Home. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family. Delores was born on July 11, 1928 in Rock Island to Ernest E. & Florence (Scott) Donaway. She married James William Elliott, Sr. on December 24, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1999. Delores was a devoted homemaker who enjoyed spending time with her family, crocheting and sewing. She was a member of the Red Hat Ladies Club at the Mercer County Nursing Home. She had many special friends at the nursing home, including Cecil Greenwood. Delores is survived by her children and spouses: James Jr.& Fran Elliott of St. George, Utah, Jane & Frank Wheeler of Seaton, IL, Jon Elliott of Louisiana, Jay Elliott of Wheaton, IL and Joel & Wilma Elliott of Henry, IL; a brother, Ernest Donaway and his wife, Gina of Rock Island; sisters: Lorraine Dowdal and husband, Bob of Colona, IL and Ruth DePaepe of Silvis; 11 grandchildren: Leslee Schueneman, Frank Wheeler and Kyle, Thom, Jasmine, Anthony, Alex, Alyssa, David, Ethan and Lane Elliott and 4 great-grandchildren: Dylan,Megan,Logan Thom Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter, Mary Ann Elliott in infancy, a grandchild, Jenny Lee, daughter-in-law, Barbara Elliott and a special friend, Russell Brown.
