Cory F. Chinlund

Cory F. Chinlund, 44 of Aledo, died Tuesday, October 2, 2012 at his home. Visitation will be held on Friday from 3 to 7 at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. A prayer service will be held at 7 PM, following visitation. Private burial will be at a later date in Aledo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Cory’s name for his children. Cory was born on July 30, 1968 in Peoria, Illinois to Francis and Connie (Appell) Chinlund. He was united in marriage to Tiffany McMeekan on September 21, 1991 at Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo, where Cory was a member. Cory was a jack of all trades. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix or drive. He enjoyed spending his time working outside as a farm hand, arborist and mason. He also spent many hours hunting, fishing and camping but was first and foremost a very good person who was a devoted husband and father. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone, even before helping himself. Cory is survived by his wife, Tiffany; a daughter, Victoria; a son, Dalton; his parents: Francis & Connie Chinlund; a sister, Carrie Alter of Rock Island; his grandmother, Dorothy St. George of Galesburg; his mother-in-law: Lynn McMeekan of Viola; his birth parents: Diane & Greg Deets and Larry & Penny Holloway; half-siblings: Jared Fordham, Trisha Hiebing and Amy Hicks. Also surviving are another brother and sister and many aunts, uncles, cousins,nieces,nephews and his faithful companion, Roy Dog. .
