Audrey Brown

Audrey Brown, 82 of Aledo, died Friday, November 2, 2012. Memorial services will be held on December 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM at the United Methodist Church, Aledo with a time of visitation and fellowship immediately following the services. Private family inurnment will be in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the United Methodist Church or Heritage Woods Assisted Living. Audrey was born on August 2, 1930 in Mercer County, Illinois to Boyd & Mable (Field) Brown. She lived on the family Centennial Farm south of Aledo since she was 9 years old. Audrey received her nursing certificate and dedicated herself to her career with the Mercer County Hospital, OB Department for 35 years. Audrey was a member of the United Methodist Church, Aledo; Mercer County Farm Bureau and was a Die Hard Chicago Cubs and Bears Fan. She was named Woman of the Year in 1976. In her spare time she enjoyed bowling, golfing and playing cards, especially Pinochle. Audrey is survived by her sister, Pauline West of Cedar Falls; a sister-in-law, Alma Brown of Aledo; many nieces, nephews and special friends & caretakers: Phyllis & John Ruh and their family of Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers: Frank, Harold and Richard Brown; a sister, Lena Marie Comben and 3 brothers in infancy.
