Kathleen M. Joseph

A celebration of life service for Kathleen Joseph, 84 of Aledo, will be Friday at 10:30 AM at the Aledo United Methodist Church. The Rev. Mark Harris will officiate. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 5 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. In lieu of flowers, Memorials may be made to the Aledo United Methodist Church. Kathleen died on Monday, July 22, 2013 at OSF St. Mary Medical Center, Galesburg. Kathleen Mae was born on September 14, 1928 in Aledo, IL to Raymond & Esther (Wangelin) Parkinson. She married Walter C. Joseph, Jr. on February 16, 1949 in Aledo. He preceded her in death on October 2, 2006. Kathleen was a lifelong member of the Aledo United Methodist church, where she found joy in fellowship with her church family. She loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and supported them throughout their lives. Kathleen enjoyed coffee and cards with her circle of friends. She lived her entire life in the country and was a wonderful farm wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Those who will cherish her memory include a daughter, Drucilla (Brian) Kelly of Peoria; son, William (Molly) Joseph of Aledo; 5 grandchildren: Christian Meister, Nicklaus (Maureen) Hussong, Joshua (Michele) Joseph, Miriam (Andrew) Sims, and Jessie (Jayson) Thomson. 7 great-grandchildren: Ryan Meister, Abigail Hussong, Sophia Joseph, Elyse Sims, Giana Sims, Kelsey Sims, Grayson Thomson and Natalie Thomson; Brother, Laverne Parkinson; Step-sister, Judy Greer and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter and brothers, Clair and Harry.
