Evelyn I. Morgan

Funeral services for Evelyn Morgan, 99 of Alexis, are Sunday, November 3, 2013 at 2:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation is one hour prior to services. Burial will be in Norwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Genesis Senior Living, Aledo or Genesis Hospice. Evelyn died on Sunday, October 27, 2013 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Evelyn was born on June 25, 1914 in Alexis, Illinois to Fredrick W. & Bertha (Likely) Martin. She married Bert Allen Morgan on December 22, 1930. He preceded her in death on October 12, 2002. Evelyn was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Burgess for many years. She enjoyed traveling, baking, making quilts for her grandchildren and tending her flowers and vegetable garden. She also collected salt and pepper shakers and bells. Evelyn & Bert also owned and operated the Red & White Grocery in Burgess and Alpha before retiring to Alexis. Those left to cherish Evelyn’s memory include her daughter, JoAnne Kozelichki of Alexis; grandchildren and spouses: Terri & Touie White of Lee, IL; Patty & Ken Boehle of Ashton, IL; Rose & Darrell Isley of Roscoe, IL; Joe & Debbie Kozelichki of Rock Island; Marie & Andy McCannon and Trudy & Brian Dvorak all of Ashton, IL; 13 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great-grandchildren, with another lovingly expected and 1 great-great-great-grandson; a sister-in-law and her family: Joan Martin of Aledo and her children: Debby, Nancy & David. She was preceded in death by her parents; and son-in-law, Anton Kozelichki; two brothers: Richard, in infancy and Bill Martin.
