Alma L. Brown

Funeral services for Alma L. Brown, 87 of Aledo, will be Saturday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation one hour prior to services. Private burial will be in McPherren Cemetery, rural Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Alma Brown Memorial Fund. Alma died on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Alma was born on February 6, 1926 in Macomb, Illinois to Edgar Otis & Anna May (Burnett) Johnson. She married Richard E. Brown on April 21, 1945. He preceded her in death. Alma was a pre-school teacher with the YMCA daycare in Aledo. She enjoyed making jewelry, drawing, painting and especially working in her flower beds. Alma is survived by her son Mark of Aledo and daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Brown and her children: Curtis Moore, Lindsey Baker and Crystal Thompson. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Dwayne & Willard; brothers, Fred & Frank and sisters, Maxine & Catherine.
