Dwaine L. Fisher

Dwaine L. Fisher, 83 of Joy, died Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at OSF Holy Family Medical Center, Monmouth. Memorial services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to the Dwaine Fisher Memorial Fund. Dwaine was born on May 28, 1930 on the family farm outside of Joy to Everett & Leota (Plunkett) Fisher. He married Bonnie Jean Vipond on December 22, 1951 in Aledo. Dwaine worked in both Car and Insurance sales before working for Case IH, from which he retired in 1992. He was devoted husband and father and especially enjoyed time with grandchildren. In early years he enjoyed square dancing with Bonnie; bowling; coaching his boys little league games and was a volunteer for the Joy Fire Department. He was a Die Hard Chicago Cubs Fan. Dwaine is survived by his wife, Bonnie; 5 children and spouses: Greg & Debbie Fisher of Joy; Jeff & Peggy Fisher of Edgington; Rose Willits of Milan; Karen & Steve DeGeeter of Aledo and Kevin Fisher of Milan; 6 grandchildren: Krista, Wyatt, Jennifer, Ana, Travis & Kimberly and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Dianna in infancy and a brother, Ronald Fisher.
