Dennis Jay Larsen

Dennis J. Larsen, 61 of Aledo, died Friday, May 29, 2015 at his home. Memorial services will be Wednesday at 7:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Visitation is prior to services on Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM. Memorials may be left to the Dennis Larsen Memorial Fund. Dennis Jay Larsen was born on October 23, 1953 in Atlantic, Iowa to Leo A. & Helen (Rodenburg) Larsen. He was previously married to Laura Mahin, from which two children were born, Nick & Jackie. Dennis and Judith (Juhl) Davison were married on December 3, 2004 in Aledo. Dennis enjoyed his vocation of cement finishing and was a proud member of Laborers’ Local Union #309, Rock Island. He enjoyed his life in the country, gardening, fishing, animals and was a friend to young and old alike. Dennis cherished the time spent with his grandchildren. Those left to cherish Dennis’ memory include his wife Judy of Aledo; daughter: Jackie Larsen and son: Nick (Brenda) Larsen both of Dow City, Iowa; step-daughter: Debra (Paul) Davison-Randles of Coal Valley, IL; grandchildren: Trever Sandman and Chloe & Levi Neese; brothers: Melvin (Suzy) Larsen and Gene (Janet) Larsen, all of Walnut, IA. He is also survived by several in-laws and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Elaine Adams.
