Eileen Hampton, 87 of Aledo, died Saturday, August 1, 2015 at Genesis Senior Living, Aledo. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Buffalo Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from 3 to 7 PM. Memorials honoring Eileen may be given to the Mercer Foundation for Health to support Alzheimer’s community education or to Genesis Hospice, Aledo. Frances Eileen was born on April 8, 1928 in Muscatine, Iowa to Perry & Bessie (Turner) Whitney. She married Garth Kistler. He preceded her in death in 1949. Eileen and Donald E. Hampton were united in marriage on January 26, 1952 in Buffalo Prairie. Eileen was a Country Woman who not only raised her family, but worked side by side on the farm with her husband. She gardened, cooked and canned for her family. Eileen enjoyed her time with family and friends, especially going out to eat, dancing, and visits to Texas. Those left to cherish Eileen’s memory include her husband of 63 years, Don; children: Joyce Spengler of Boynton Beach, FL and Al & Denise Hampton of Aledo; Grandchildren: Jon Hampton; Lindsey & Tommy Adams and Jim & Stephanie Hampton; Great-Grandchildren: Lane & Garen Adams, Ellie Hampton and one lovingly expected in January; a sister: Emogene Kimball of Aledo; Sisters-in-law: Verna (Chuck) DeClerck, Mary Cameron; Delores Anderson, Elaine Rommel, Joyce Hill and Jan (Mike) Brinkman. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Eileen was preceded in death by her parents; first husband; Brothers-in-law and sister-in-law: John Kimball, John & Barbara Hampton, Dick Cameron, Wayne Anderson, Stanley Rommel and Leonard Hill.
