Janet Ann Scranton

Janet A. Scranton, 71, of Viola and formerly of Aledo and New Boston, died Friday, March 10, 2006 at Lutheran Homes, Muscatine, Iowa of acute leukemia. Graveside services will be Tuesday at 11:30 AM at Sugar Grove Cemetery, Aledo. Visitation is Tuesday from 10 to 11 at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Janet Scranton Memorial Fund. Janet was born on August 26, 1934 in Peoria, IL to Morgan & Leona Mildred (Bonynge) Clymore. She was previously married to Marvin Scranton on June 8, 1957. Janet was a graduate of Aledo High School. She enjoyed working in the restaurant business and had worked for several country clubs, including, Oak View Country Club in Aledo. Janet is survived by an aunt: Nancy Bonynge of Aledo; special cousins: Larry & Alda Mier of Illinois City and cousins: Mike & Shirley Bonynge, Susie & Bob Watson, Beth & Mike Bowns, Tom & Zelda Oblinger, Carol Oblinger and Bobby & Pat Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and aunts and uncles: Henry & Peg (Bonynge) Johnson, Elwin & Irene (Bonynge) Mier; Bill & Ann (Bonynge) Oblinger and Tom Bonynge.
