Warren L. Castle

***Due to power outages and icy roads the family will not be present at the funeral home on Monday evening. They will be present from 9 Am to 11 AM, prior to services on Tuesday for Visitation. Funeral Services for Warren Castle, 69 of Joy, are Tuesday at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge. Visitation is Monday from 5 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Joy Fire Department. Warren died Friday, December 25, 2015 at Genesis Medical Center, Aledo. Warren was born on August 16, 1946 to Leonard E. & Hazel (Mueller) Castle. He married Sandra McGuire on August 16, 1969 in Joy. She preceded him in death on Dec. 9, 1998. Warren retired from Farmland Foods after 23 years of dedicated employment. He had also previously worked for Mer-Roc FS & John Deere Harvester Works. He enjoyed bowling three times a week, country dancing, rodeos, traveling and attending local Fairs, where he entered his Seed Artwork. Warren enjoyed his family, friends and food. Warren never met a stranger, was a true character with a big heart who will be dearly missed by his sissy & brother-in-law: Karen & Murrel Sloan of Joy; Step-siblings: Marilyn & Bill Hessman; Diana Nelson and David & Bobbie Olson; many nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews and many friends close to his heart. He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Ruth (Noble) Castle; wife; and a sister in infancy, Bonnie.
