Aileen G. Andress

Aileen G. Andress, 95 of Aledo, died Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at Brookstone Estates, Aledo. Funeral services are Monday at 10:30 AM at the Aledo United Methodist Church. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 4 PM at Speer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Aledo United Methodist Church or Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary. Aileen Gladys was born on March 9, 1920 in Eliza Township, Mercer County, Illinois to Joseph & Agnes (Sellnau) Zimmerman. She graduated from Joy High School. On February 23, 1944, Aileen and Lyle M. Andress were united in marriage in Muscatine, Iowa. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1984. Aileen worked in the New Boston Elevator Office for over 20 years, retiring in 1985. She also helped her husband on the family farm. Aileen was known for her volunteerism in Mercer County; served as President for the Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary and was a member of Mercer County Christian Women. Aileen was always there for her community, family and friends and willing to offer a helping hand. Aileen is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law: Donald & Marilyn Andress of Illinois City and Roger & Jodie Andress of Aledo; Sisters: Betty Bull of Rock Island and Lois Folck of Oshkosh, WI; 3 grandchildren and their families: Jason Andress; Linsey & Mike Warren and their daughter, Harper and Amber & Alec Schorg and their daughter Anemone. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters: Frances Landers and Virginia Bratton; brother, David Zimmerman; sister-in-law, Pauline Andress and special friend Walter Marshall.
