Larry J. Griffith

Larry J. Griffith, 67 of Aledo, died Saturday, March 5, 2016 at his home. Memorial Services will be Friday, March 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM at Aledo United Methodist Church. Burial in Sugar Grove Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Larry Griffith Memorial Fund. Larry was born on August 30, 1948 in Davenport, Iowa to James W. & Evelyn M. (Line) Griffith. Larry was a veteran of the United States Navy. After High School and the Navy, Larry lived in Louisiana and Texas before coming back to Aledo in the late 90’s. Larry was in Restaurant Management and Automobile Sales before retiring. Larry enjoyed golfing, hunting, horseback riding and the companionship of his loyal companion, Jake. Larry is survived by his mother, Evelyn Yerkey of Aledo; a sister and brother-in-law: Carol & Judd McAtee of Viola; Nieces and Nephews: Jim & Amanda McAtee; Jon & Amy McAtee; Angie & John DeBlock and Josh & Stephanie McAtee and 11 Great-Nieces and Nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, in 1955 and his Step-father, Wendell Yerkey in 2007.
