Charles Allen Dixon

Charles “Charlie” Dixon, 82 of Aledo, formerly of Joy, died Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Seminary Manor, Galesburg. Graveside services will be Monday at 10:30 AM at the New Boston Cemetery. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Animal Shelter. Speer Funeral Home is assisting the family. Charlie was born on July 30, 1934 in New Boston to Carl & Zeola (Bise) Dixon, Sr. He was a Veteran of the United States Army. Chuck helped on area farms and drove a Concrete Truck for many years. Chuck is survived by his children and spouses: Toni & Dale Mitchell of Joy, Rusty & Diana Dixon of Moline; Siblings: Kenny & Elaine Dixon and Vernon Dixon, of Joy and Gary & Barb Dixon of Aledo; 6 grandchildren; 3 step-grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren and 3 step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Carl Dixon, Jr., Richard Dixon, Rosie Eggen, Dorothy Anderson and Marilyn Dixon.
