Joan Ileen Wooddell

Joan I. Wooddell, 77 of Aledo, died Monday, January 02, 2017 at Unity Point, Rock Island. Funeral services will be Thursday at 5:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Private burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Thursday from 2 to 4 PM. Memorials may be made to Relay for Life, Mercer County. Joan Ileen was born on October 21, 1939 in Moline, Illinois to Fred & Anna (Nitz) Waldron. She married Jerry M. Wooddell. He preceded her in death. The most important thing in Joan’s life was her family. She enjoyed taking care of her family and everyone she cleaned houses for. She also loved fishing, making jelly and gardening. Those left to cherish Joan’s memory include her children and spouses: Becky & Dena Hawn of Keithburg; Jerry Wooddell of Davenport and Lori & Tyler Smith of Joy; grandchildren: Lynnae, Anna & Damon Hawn; Brandon Cannon & fiancé, Taylor Sims; Kelsy Cannon; Samantha and Breanna Smith; Tony Wooddell & fiancé, Kelli Losey and Ashley Engels; great-grandchildren: Adri, Miya, Braxton, Keaton and Joshua; Siblings and spouses: Pat & Donna Tuttle and Paula Morris all of East Moline; Patsy Myers of Moline; Donna Farmer & John Myers of Viola and Delores Hoffman and Oaty George of Geneseo. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and a sister, Sharon Lawver.
