Donna Mae M. Diehl

Donna Mae Diehl, 85 of Aledo, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at the Mercer County Nursing Home. Services are Friday at 12:00 Noon with visitation from 9:00 AM until time of service at Speer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Leech Cemetery, rural Buffalo Prairie, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Donna Mae Diehl Memorial Fund. Donna Mae Marie Calsyn was born on August 24, 1924 in Masonville, Iowa to Arthur and Mary (DePauw) Calsyn. She married Leonard Diehl on April 26, 1947 in Moline, Illinois. They farmed together in Eliza Township for 25 years before moving to Aledo. Donna Mae was employed with Service Rubber, Rock Island, for several years. She was of the Catholic faith. Donna Mae was an American Cancer Society Volunteer for over 12 years and a prior member of the Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary. Donna Mae is survived by her husband of 62 years, Leonard; a son, Larry (Laura) Diehl; a daughter, Cathy Louise (Ike) Diehl-Long and a grandson, John David Diehl, all of Aledo. She was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Cathy Ann.
