Jerome "Jerry" Heinrichs, 49 of Aledo, died Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Aledo Rehab & Healthcare Center after a courageous battle with Alzheimers Disease. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:30 AM at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. Burial will be in Aledo Cemetery. Visitation is Friday from 4 to 8 PM with a prayer service and time of remembering at 8 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Jerry Heinrichs memorial fund. Jerome Joseph was born on September 19, 1959 in Chicago, Illinois to Robert and Mary Ann ( Meyer) Heinrichs. He graduated from Winola High School in 1977. Jerry and Bonny Cooper were married on March 31, 1979 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church, Aledo. Jerry was employed with Eagle Country Market for many years prior to employment with the Augustana College grounds-keeping department. Jerry enjoyed being active and loved playing sports, especially softball, basketball and bowling. He loved spending time outdoors and watching his children's sports activities, especially football and volleyball. He was an avid Aledo Green Dragon, St. Louis Cardinal and Chicago Bears fan. His true joy the last few years, were his grandchildren, Keely, Brecken and Brady. Those left to cherish Jerry's memory include his wife, Bonny; son and daughter-in-law: Will & Amanda Heinrichs and daughter, Debra Heinrichs all of Aledo; 3 grandchildren; his mother, Mary Ann Heinrichs of Dyersville, IA; brothers, David (Trisha) Heinrichs of Columbia, MD and Jeff (Maureen) Heinrichs of Kingston, NH; brothers-in-law:Dave Crimmins of Dubuque, IA and Brad (Daisy) Cooper of Lebanon, IN and sister-in-law, Becky Driscoll of Lake Elsinore, CA. He was preceded in death by his father; sister, Debbie Crimmins; brother, Willy Heinrichs; in-laws, Milford & Martha Cooper and a brother-in-law, David Cooper.
