Ann M. Boruff, 85 of Buffalo Prairie, died Wednesday at her home. Services will be Monday at 10:30 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Burial will be in Buffalo Prairie Cemetery. Visitation is Sunday from 2 to 5 PM at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Buffalo Prairie Masonic Lodge or to Cure PSP (Progressive Supranuclear Palsy). Ann Marie was born on November 10, 1932 in Moline, Illinois to Glen & Cora (Vogler) Moffitt. Ann graduated from Reynolds Highs School in 1949. Ann and Merle E. Boruff were united in Marriage on August 28. 1949 at the Reynolds United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on September 6, 2013. Prior to his death Ann and Merle farmed near Buffalo Prairie. Ann operated the Boruff Insurance Agency in Buffalo Prairie for 43 years. She worked with her clients, as they were like family to her. She was the first female president of the Independent Farm Insurance Agents of Illinois. Ann was also a member of the Big I – Illinois Independent Agents; 50 year member of theEastern Star Chapter #516 of Buffalo Prairie and was currently attending the Pine Bluff Methodist Church. Those left to cherish Ann’s memory include her daughters: Drue Boruff of Illinois City; Cherie Lee and husband, Michael of Jacksonville, FL; a sister: Kay Holley of Lexington, KY; Grandchildren: Sean & Sarah Dixon of Joy; Erik & Ashley Dixon of Illinois City and great-grandchildren: Koleigh, Kassidy, Keeghan, Kase and Lukas Dixon. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Merle; and a brother, Robert Moffitt. The family would like to thank Sally, Adaline and Nicole for the excellent care given to Ann throughout her illness.
