Ann K. Sedam

Ann K. Sedam, 89 of Aledo, died Thursday, September 9, 2021 at her home. Graveside services will be Saturday, September 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Children’s Therapy Center of the Quad Cities. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family and condolences may be left on their website at speerfuneralhome.com.

Ann was born on April 3, 1932 in Moline, Illinois to Paul & Josephine (Sullivan) Isaacson. She married John Allen in 1952 and Richard Sedam in 1973. Ann was a graduate of United Township High School and went on to become a Dental Assistant. After moving to Aledo, she worked for 15 years in the fabric department at Wal-Mart and helped care for her mother, Josephine.

Ann, known to all as GMa, helped raise her grandson, Justin and attended all his school events and was an avid supporter of Green Dragon athletics. She loved decorating her home for each season, attracting butterflies to her yard, watching golf, sewing and cooking. She also enjoyed playing her games of solitaire and spades on the computer with her faithful cat, “Toefur” by her side.  

Those left to cherish her memory include her children : John “JP” (Barb) Allen of Clarksville, TN; Cindy Allen (Tony Jones) of Aledo; James (Laura) Allen of Aledo, IL; Step-children: Sandra Seastrom of Osage City, KS; Edwin (Sheila) Sedam of Carbondale, KS; a brother, Charles “Davey” (Roycelyn) Isaacson of Hettick, IL; Grandchildren: Sandra Swatzel; Justin, Hunter and Karen "Jamicynn" Allen; step-grandchildren: Heather, Eddie, Eric, Lisa, Tom, Josh, Mike, Donnie, Ronda, Kevin & Shawn; 2 great-grandchildren: Anna & Kevin; many step great-grandchildren and a niece, Rhonda Janroy. Ann was preceded in death by her daughter, Karen Allen; step-children, Keith Sedam, Connie Althof and Kay Koranda; and 2 step-grandchildren.
