B. John Hamilton, 86 of New Windsor, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026, at his home. Private family graveside services will be held at the New Windsor Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or the New Windsor Community Food Pantry. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.

Brenton John Hamilton was born on March 26, 1939, in Kewanee, Illinois to Waldo & Katherine (Terry) Hamilton. He married June L. Vance on September 24, 1957, in New Windsor. She preceded him in death on February 19, 2019.

John began his working career with Hazel Del Coal Mines before going to work at John Deere Harvester Works for 30 years and 6 months. After retiring he enjoyed helping local farmer Wayne Welch. John was also the neighbor many farmers called on to help weld or fix a tractor. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching his westerns and listening to Willie’s Roadhouse. John and June took many motorcycle trips on their BMW’s with the Good Time Wheelers Group. He loved working in his yard and tending his garden and reaping the benefits from a good growing season.

John is survived by his son and daughters-in-law: Jim & Kristi Hamilton of Andalusia and Kathy Hamilton of New Windsor; son-in-law, David Duritsky of Dekalb, TX; several grandchildren, including: Jermie Hamilton, David Duritsky and Ashley Cheyne; several great-grandchildren, including, Keaton & Blake Hamilton; sister and brother-in-law, Melissa & Roddy Hartman of Matherville; and 3 stepsisters and a stepbrother. He was preceded in death by: his parents; wife, June; children, Joe, Jacob and Joy Lee; brother, Henry; sister, Francis and and a step-sister.
