Benjamin Horton Randall

  Graveside services for Benjamin Horton Randall, 87 of Aledo, Illinois will be held on Tuesday at 3:00 PM at the Davisville Cemetery, Davisville, Missouri. Visitation is Monday at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, Illinois from 5 to 7 PM. Memorials may be made to the Mercer County Animal Shelter or your local Humane Society. Ben died on Friday, August 4, 2017 at OSF Medical Center, Peoria, Illinois. Ben was born on April 16, 1930 in Corry, Pennsylvania to Harold McIntyre & Beula (Brooks) Randall. He married Ruth Anna Board on September 2, 1949. He married Donna Lea Jones on May 13, 1977. She preceded him in death on April 24, 2010. Ben moved to Illinois in 1947 as a farmhand. He turned his love of farming into his profession, raising livestock and grain in Suez Township for almost 40 years before retiring to a ranch near Steelville, Missouri for 15 years. He was an avid horseman, a commercial pilot, and enjoyed giving flying lessons. Ben is survived by his children and their spouses: Gwen & Mike Funner of Rock Island, WA; Chad & Michelle Randall of Hohenwald, TN; Kyle Randall of White Hall, IL; Bart & Ginger Randall of Knoxville, IL; Ronda Roberson of Cameron, IL; Renee & Chester Meredith of Aledo, IL; Cindy & Spike Rucker of Floresville, TX and John Jones of Andalusia, IL; 13 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Dirk and his second wife, Donna. Assisting the family is the Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, Illinois and Hutson Funeral Home of Steelville, Missouri.
