Darlene M. Fuhr

Darlene Mae Fuhr, of Andalusia, formerly of Edgington, died peacefully on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, at Silver Cross Nursing Home, Rock Island, Illinois. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on October 28, 2023, at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Andalusia. Visitation will be prior to services beginning at 9:00 AM at the church. Burial will be in Edgington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is in charge of arrangements.

Darlene was born on March 26, 1929, in Edgington, Illinois to Wayne & Bertha (VandeVoorde) Elliott. She married Ivan H. Fuhr on September 17, 1947, in Milan, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 19, 2011.

Darlene was a lifetime member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and was very involved in the church. She was a great cook who enjoyed gardening, playing cards with friends and spending time with her family. Darlene and Ivan enjoyed wintering in Mercedes, Texas.

She will be missed by her children and their spouses; Connie & Curt Krueger; Larry & Karen Fuhr; Dixie & Victor McKenna; and Jackie Platt; grandchildren: Jill & Zack Prout, Courtney Krueger, Jim & Sarah Krueger, Ryan & Julie Fuhr, Andrew & Cassie Fuhr, Matthew & Jenny Fuhr, Cody Sowa, Wendy Boppert, Kelly & Scott Secor, Millie Boppert and Jennifer Livingston ; great-grandchildren: Lee, Zoe, Kennedi, Harper, Kiersten, Holly, Brady, Cade, Max, Charlie, Ari, Capri, Ryian, Maille, Marshall and 3 great-great-grandchildren: Zelie, Samuel, Christopher.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter JoAnn; twin sons, Donnie & Ronnie and siblings: Francis and Lloyd Elliott and Ella Marie Seligman.
