David Roy Bendele

David Roy Bendele, 67 of Silvis, Illinois, died Sunday, August 20, 2023, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, after a short battle with cancer. Services will be Wednesday, August 23^rd at 9:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home. A private burial will be in Sugar Grove Cemetery, Aledo.

David Roy was born on November 24, 1955, in San Franciso, California to Donald E. & Helen Marie (Moran) Bendele, Sr. He worked with his family in the Bendele Janitorial Services in his earlier years. Later years, Dave worked in concrete and landscaping.

Dave always tried to be the one that helped the family, even if it didn’t benefit him. He wants to be remembered for his honesty, compassion, and love for his family. He enjoyed fishing and grilling out with his family and friends.

Dave is survived by his nieces and nephews: Roxanne “Rocky Marie” Leventon, Kim Marie & Leon Schaefer, Donald E. Bendele III, James & Iman Bendele-Cox, Vincent Bendele, David Bendele, and Rachel Bendele; Great-nieces and nephews: Meagan Palmer, Terry Schaefer, Tiffany Bigbee, and Adam & Yusuf Bendele and great-great-nieces and nephews: Catie Anne, Braxton Poppy, Logann Joshua and Phoenix Cole. Dave is also survived by his adoptive mother, Margie Lemanski and many other beloved friends and extended family.

Dave was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Gene Bendele in 1996, Donald E. Bendele, Jr in 2001, John Bendele in 2006, Daniel Bendele in 2007 and Florence Selby in 2009.
