Dwayne "Ben" Joseph Benischek

Dwayne “Ben” J. Benischek, 89 of New Boston, died Tuesday, May 17, 2022 at his home. Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 21st at 2:00 PM, with visitation 2 hours prior to services at Speer Funeral Home. Military Honors will be provided by the Aledo American Legion. Memorials may be made to the family.

Dwayne Joseph was born on March 5, 1933, in Oxford Junction, Iowa to Lewis & Frances (VanSickle) Benischek. Ben served in the United States Army in Korea.  He married Audrey (Tompkins) Hanway in 1991 in Joy, Illinois

Ben was an over the road truck driver and enjoyed when Audrey got her license and started accompanying him on the long trips. He hauled campers for both Jet and Maple Tree for many years also.  After retirement, he enjoyed farming with the Ryan Brothers, Stewart Coulter and Wilbur Frieden. He also worked for Liqui -Gro. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and hunting.

Ben is survived by his wife, Audrey; Step-children: Ed Hanway, David Hanway, Paul Hanway and Norman Hanway, Randy Louck and special friend, Chris Olson; a sister, Doreen Houston of Monmouth; many step - grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
