Florence Gertrude Reddick

January 14, 1944 — May 4, 2020

After much prayer and discussion, we as a family have decided to not have a Memorial Service for my mom. It was not an easy decision, but, it was decided this is the wise and safe decision at this time. I hope you will continue to remember mom's smile and laugh. Especially in these trying times. Thank you all, The Family of Florence Reddick.

Family Graveside services for Florence G. Reddick, 76 of Aledo, will be Thursday, May 7th at 12:30 PM at Hamlet Cemetery, Hamlet, Illinois. A public memorial will be held later due to Covid-19 restrictions. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Aledo. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family and condolences may be left at speerfuneralhome.com. Florence died on Monday, May 4th at the Kishwaukee Hospital, DeKalb.

Florence Gertrude was born on January 14, 1944 in Rock Island, Illinois to Clyde & Gertrude (Sproston) Cooper. She married Marvin Reddick on June 11, 1988. Florence was an LPN at the local nursing homes and did healthcare for many in the Mercer County Community. In her retirement, Florence enjoyed wintering in Southern Charms, Florida.

Florence is survived by her husband, Marvin; sons and daughter-in-law: Jeff & Debbi Bewley of Sandwich, IL and Jim Bewley of Aledo; Step Children: Bill & Ginny, Melissa, and Manda Reddick; Grandchildren: Jesse Bewley, Mike & Becca Bewley, Melissa Mitchell, Jake and Maggie Bewley; Great-Grandchildren: Ryatt, Izayah, Livia, and Cash; many step-grandchildren; Siblings: Dave & Sandy Cooper of Kentucky; Francis & Carroll Franks of Aledo, Leonard Cooper of Galesburg; sister-in-law, Mary Cooper of Rock Island. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Cooper.
