Grace K. Brown

Grace K. Brown, 79 of Silvis, died Sunday, April 20, 2025, at MercyOne Genesis, Silvis. Visitation and fellowship will be held on Monday, April 28th from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

Grace Kathryn McAllister was born on May 21, 1945, in Moline, IL, to Thomas & Irene (Lillis) McAllister. She was previously married to Walter Brown.

Grace retired from John Deere Harvester Works, after 36 years of dedicated employment. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially watching her granddaughter, Madison, cheer. Her talents in oil painting found many asking her to paint landscapes for them. Grace also enjoyed going to the casino and loved raising Shih Tzu puppies, especially her favorites, Cuddles and Bandi.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Robert Brown of Muscatine, IA and Marcie (Mark) Kellogg of Aledo; granddaughter, Madison Grace Fleischman of Bettendorf; siblings, Richard (Cecilia) McAllister of East Moline and Patricia Blankenship of Peoria. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Claire (Charles) Cannon of Peoria. Grace was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Thomas, Teresa and Martin McAllister.
