Kathryn Ann Bredberg

Kathryn A. Bredberg, 96 of Aledo, died June 22, 2022, at Genesis East Medical Center, Davenport, Iowa. Private family burial will be held in the Hopewell Cemetery, New Windsor, Illinois. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Messiah Lutheran Church, 509 NE 2^nd St, Aledo, Illinois. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family.

Kathryn Ann was born on December 18, 1925, in Rock Island, Illinois to Earl G. & Theodora (Poscharscky) Gingery. She married Calvin D. Bredberg on August 7, 1950, in Princeton, Illinois. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2005.

Kathryn helped Calvin on the family farm near New Windsor. In her spare time she enjoyed sewing, especially quilting. She worked part-time at Wolfsie’s Fabric Shop in Galesburg for several years. Kathryn attended Messiah Lutheran Church, Aledo.

Kathryn is survived by her sons: Karl Bredberg of Aledo; Daniel Bredberg of Carbon Cliff; Timothy (Melody) Bredberg of Springfield, IL; Anthony Bredberg of Gig harbor, Washington; a sister, Mary (George) Parsons of Springfield, OH; 6 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
