Kevin "Rollo" Johnson

Kevin E. “Rollo” Johnson, 69, of Aledo, Illinois died Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Clarissa Cook Hospice House, Bettendorf, Iowa. A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to Autism Speaks, Churches of Mercer County Food Pantry, or Furever Friends and sent to Speer Funeral Home, PO Box 27, Aledo who is assisting the family.

Kevin was born on November 24, 1956, in Aledo, Illinois to Rollin E. & Martha (Kitchen) Johnson. He was a 1975 graduate of Aledo High School. On February 6, 1982, Kevin and the former Kim Fordham were united in marriage.

Kevin was a simple man, enjoying his work in carpentry, fishing in local ponds and recently candle making. He began his carpentry education through Keith Lund in IO classes. Kevin enjoyed being able to work with and restore old woodwork in local homes and weather watching. He was a devoted Chicago Bears fan and had a special feline companion, Theodora.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Kim; children: Adam T & Maranda Johnson and Taylor Johnson; grandchildren: Kayel, Rollin, Shayanna and Robyn; a sister and brother-in-law: Barbara & John Williams; a bonus daughter, Marissa Martin; nieces and nephews: Beccy, Mandy, Derek and Megan and 9 great-nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.
