Madeline "Julie" J. McGee

Madeline “Julie” Jewell McGee, 72 of Keithsburg, died Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Mercer Manor, Aledo, Illinois. A family celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo is assisting the family.

Julie was born on May 4, 1949 in Quincy, Illinois to Donald Wayne & Cora Lee (VanNatta) Miller. She married James J. Wakeland on Dec. 29, 1965. They later divorced. Julie married Paul McGee on January 1, 1994 . He preceded her in death.

Julie is survived by her 4 children and spouses: James & Becky Wakeland, Jr of Coal Valley; Jeff & Debbie Wakeland of Keithsburg; Jena Mettler of Burlington, IA and Jerrold& Angela Wakeland of Little York; Grandchildren: Kaylynn Miller, Troy Wakeland, Christina Johnson, Johnathan Johnson, Jaclyn Strong, Dalton Wakeland, & DeWayne Wakeland; several great-grandchildren; Siblings & Spouses: Sharon Worall of Benson, AZ; Dannie & Kathy Miller of Reynolds; David Miller of Ottumwa, IA; Jim & Judy Miller of Port Byron; Pamela Wonders of Aledo; Bruce Miller of Oquawka; William Miller of Georgia; Mike & Kelli Miller of Sheffield, IL ; Ariana “Jody” & Sam Newton of Mississippi; Lisa & Ed Smith of Farmington; and Joseph & Tammy Miller of Kings Mountain, NC. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews, including niece and special helper, Alyssa Miller.  Julie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Paul and siblings: John Miller, Connie Mackey and Steven & Donald in infancy.
