Marjorie A. Lemon Goding, 100 of Aledo died Monday, February 14, 2022 at Mercer Manor, Aledo. Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 19th at 11:00 AM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial is in Aledo Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Beacon of Hope Hospice.
Marjorie Annabel Hutchins was born on July 7, 1921, in Millersburg, Illinois to Raymond & Nona (Wakeland) Hutchins. She was a graduate of the Aledo High School Class of 1939. Marjorie married Andrew Lemon on August 31, 1940, in Davenport, Iowa. He preceded her in death on November 28, 1971. She married Gerry “Ozzie” Goding on May 30, 1975, in Aledo, Illinois. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1978.
Marjorie was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Aledo and the Mercer County Hospital Auxiliary. She appreciated music and was a talented yodeler. She loved to cook for her family and enjoyed feeding the birds.
Marjorie worked for several restaurants over the years, including Phillips Café and Vitale’s.
Survivors include her 3 daughters and sons-in-law: Sandra Morrison of Viola: Linda & Lee Bell of Aledo and Patti & Joe Vitale of Aledo; Grandchildren and spouses: Rebecca & Gary Hofer; Melissa Abrahamson, Jim & Amy Morrison; Collen & Ron Hall; Joann & Rodney Vose; Tonia & Rick Lee; Andrew & Amy Vitale; Vince & Adrienne Vitale; 21 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her 2 husbands; son-in-law, Harold Morrison and brothers, Donovan Hutchins, and Darrell Hutchins.
