Mary Sue Ellis

Mary Sue Ellis, 80, died Sunday, May 31, 2026, at Mercer Manor, Aledo. Private burial will be at the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Sue is in the care of Speer Funeral Home, Aledo.

Mary Sue was born on September 26, 1945, in Ottumwa, Iowa to James Joseph & Doris June (Wentworth) Scieszinski. She married Steve Ellis. He preceded her in death, and they had three children from this union. She worked for Black Hawk College as a secretary. She was a hardworking, loving mother who did her best for all. 

Sue is survived by her children, Jenny, Matt, and Denny; grandchildren: Jessy, Becca, and Kyle; great-grandchildren: Kainen, Conner, Mia, James, Dawson and Levi; her brother, Denny Scieszinski; nephews: Steve Sinott and Mike Sinott. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a sister, Shirley Sinott.
