Ricky Lee Lantau

Ricky L. Lantau, 69 of Aledo, died Sunday, May 24, 2026, surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be Thursday, May 28th at 2:00 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, with visitation 2 hours prior to services, beginning at 12:00 PM. Burial will be at Peniel Cemetery, Joy, Illinois. Memorials may be made to the Lantau family.

Ricky Lee Lantau was born on August 9, 1956, in Moline, Illinois to Fred Lantau and Shorty Minteer Lantau Morse. He married Tammy Louck on January 3, 1997, in Jamaica.

Rick was a dedicated worker with Laborers Local Union #309, where he mostly worked with McCarthy Improvement. In his spare time, he could be found hunting and fishing. Rick also loved to take his Harley with the side car for his boxers and his 4-wheeler out during the winter to plow snow. His family was most important though, and he cherished the time spent with them, which included his boxers, Tucker and Piper and parrot, Coco.

Those left to cherish Rick’s memory include his wife, Tammy; children and spouses; Rusty Van Dolah & Dennis Anton, Jr; Shane & Ashley Van Dolah and Aliyah Lantau; grandchildren: Lilly & Stella Kuddes and Connor & Saydie Van Dolah; brother, Bill Lantau and wife, Deb and sister, Diane Baugher. Rick was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Fred Lantau.
