Robert Lewis was born on January 8, 1928, in rural Buda, Illinois to Ray & Nellie (House) Kopp. He graduated from Buda High School in 1946. He joined the US Navy and served from 1946 – 1948, stationed in Portsmouth, NH. Bob married Vivian (Bull) Still on June 6, 1975, in Aledo, Illinois.
Bob’s high school dream was to be a truck driver and that became a reality after the Navy, when he started his own trucking business, lastly retiring from Blick & Blick Oil. In his retirement he had his own mowing business. Bob was a member of the First Baptist Church, where he enjoyed ushering for many years. He loved to be with his family and playing cards; was a talented gardener; enjoyed playing bags and snowmobiling, right up to his 90th birthday. He also loved dancing with Vivian.
Survivors include his wife, Vivian; daughters: Sheilla (Andy) Lucas of Princeton, IL; Linda (John) Dusel of New River, AZ; Sons Kevin (Teresa) Kopp of Wyanet, IL; Christopher (Heather) Kopp of Aledo; stepson, Randy Still of Jacksonville, IL; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren, with 2 more lovingly expected in September.
