Ronald L. Schmidt

 

Ron was born on November 4, 1938 in Davenport, Iowa to Michael & Marie (Kelting) Schmidt. He married Linda Stankee and later Linda Ott, both of whom preceded him in death. He married Carole Reusch on March 2, 2002. 

 

Ron resided on the family farm outside of Wheatland, Iowa until 1957 when he graduated from Bennett High School. He then worked as an apprentice and learned autobody repair, coming to Aledo in the mid 1960's. He eventually opened Ron's Body Shop in Aledo. Ron had a love of old cars and still owned the car he drove when he graduated high school, a 1950 Ford. He was also an avid NASCAR fan. 

 

Survivors include his wife Carole; children and spouses: Ronald & Jennifer Schmidt of DeWitt; Lee & Danell Schmidt of Davenport; Laura Sharon of Wyoming, MI; stepchildren and spouses: Kirk & Linda Reusch of Lake Zurich, IL; Tim & Shelly Reusch of Aledo; Todd Reusch of Des Moines; 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 wives, a sister Marilyn Stoeker and a grandson, Elijah Sharon.
