Sharon Kay was born on December 15, 1944, in Muscatine, Iowa to Keith Milo & Wilma Jean (Sheese) King. She graduated from Aledo High School in 1963. On October 22, 1967, Sharon and Roger Bledsoe were married in Hamlet, Illinois.
Sharon worked for Casey’s in Reynolds for many years before going to the Rockridge School District as Custodian. She worked at the Reynolds Grade School. After retirement, Sharon and Roger started their own mowing business. She was mowing up until the evening before her death. Sharon also enjoyed helping with Wonderful Wednesday’s at Preemption United Methodist Church.
Sharon loved her family, but even the family will admit that Sharon had a special relationship with her great-grandchildren. One of her proudest moments was watching her great-granddaughter Harlyn win National Champion in tumbling this past June in South Dakota. Other time spent with family included doing puzzles, camping, shopping, especially on black Friday, decorating for Christmas and day road trips. She looked forward to helping her sister, Carole, during the rhubarb fest. And no day was complete without a stop at Koffee Junction and cudding with her canine companion, Chloe.
Those left to cherish Sharon’s memory include her husband, Roger; children and spouses: Cindy & Dan Thomson, Kim & Brent Zippe; Grandchildren: Alanna & Jacob Fobert and Austin Zippe; step-grandchildren: Josh Thompson, Kate & Jordan Frieden; great-grandchildren: Harlyn & Huxton Fobert; step-great-grandchildren: Dalton & Ava Thompson, Henly Martin and Riley Frieden; siblings: Carole Smith and Kenny & Karen King; Sister-in-law, Carol King and brother-in-law, Kenny Yeater.
