Therese A. Carlson Kipling

Therese A. Carlson Kipling, 83 of Marietta, IL, formerly of Seaton, died Monday January 14, 2019 at her home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday at 10:00 AM at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church, Aledo. Burial will be in Greenmound Cemetery, Keithsburg. Visitation is Wednesday from 4 to 7 PM at Speer Funeral Home, Aledo. Memorials may be made to Mercer County Relay for Life or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.

Therese Ann was born on August 10, 1935 in Matherville, Illinois to John & Mary (Mehall) Adams. She married Fred Carlson on April 30, 1955 in Matherville. He preceded her in death in 1989. Therese married Ronny Jo Kipling in 2005.

Therese was a graduate of Sherrard High School. After graduation she was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal. She was a dedicated homemaker and enjoyed creating floral arrangements at Linda’s Flowers & Gifts, Aledo. Therese enjoyed gardening, traveling, painting and shared her love of fashion in her shopping. She was a Seaton Fire Department Trustee for many years.

Those left to cherish Therese’s memory include her husband Ron; children & spouses: Susie & Dave Morrison of Carlinville, IL; Chris & Jim Holmes and Fred Carlson all of Seaton; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-children: Randy Kipling, Danny & Kim Kipling and Jeff Kipling and families. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred and a brother John Adams.
