Mildred L. Harris

July 5, 1921 — December 1, 2018

Mildred L. Harris, 97 of Aledo, passed away on December 1, 2018 at her home. Per her wishes cremation was accorded. Private family burial will be in Little Cedar Creek Cemetery, Little York, Illinois. Memorials in Mildred’s name may be sent to the VFW Post #1571 Auxiliary or the American Legion Post #121 Honor Marker Program. Speer Funeral Home, Aledo, is assisting the family.

Mildred Louise was born on July 5, 1921 in Sumner Township, Warren County, Illinois to George D. & Vie M. (Braucht) Stevens. She retired from the Mercer County Nursing Home as a Dietician Aide. Mildred had also previously worked with Henderson County Homecare. SHe was a Die Hard Chicago Cubs Fan; enjoyed crocheting, puzzle books and was an avid reader.

Those left to cherish Mildred’s memory include her children and spouses: Tony & Barb Huttenstine of Queen City, MO; Terry & Lisa Huttenstine of Laurinberg, NC; Ike & Cathy Diehl - Long of Aledo; Beverly & Roy Carter of Monmouth, IL; Daughter-in-law: Ida Kuttenstine of Hernando, MS and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: husbands: Walter Huttenstine, Vernon Long and Lowell Harris; 2 sons: Ronnie & George Huttenstine; sisters: Esther, Georgia and Lois (Aunt Pete); brothers: Frank and Clifford and 3 great-grandchildren.
